DeGiro Performance Tracker

About this tracker

DeGiro Performance Tracker is a free, independent tool that turns the two CSV files DeGiro lets you export into an honest answer to one question: what did my portfolio actually return?

Who builds it

It is an independent project, built and run by a single developer. It is not a company product, and it is independent of and not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to DeGiro or flatexDEGIRO. It has no access to any broker account, cannot see your login and cannot place a trade or move money — it only ever reads files you choose to upload.

Why it exists

DeGiro shows what your positions are worth today. What it does not show is a return that means something once you have made more than one deposit: “worth now minus put in” ignores when each euro arrived, and comparing yourself against an index's headline figure ignores that your money went in on different dates than a lump sum on 1 January would have.

The export already contains everything needed to do it properly — every trade, deposit, withdrawal, dividend and fee, each with its own date. This tracker does the arithmetic on it: a daily valuation, a time-weighted and a money-weighted return, each calendar year on its own, every position's profit, income and costs, and a fair comparison with an index. The methodology page explains every one of those figures with a worked example, and the guides explain why the obvious way of reading them is usually the wrong one.

What it does — and doesn't do — with your files

The privacy policy says exactly what is kept and who else is involved, and the terms of service set out what the tool promises and what it doesn't.

How it is funded

The tracker is free and there is no paid tier. Ads served by Google AdSense, shown on the guides and the methodology page, pay for hosting and price data. They are not on the page with your results, and Google's ad script isn't loaded there. Where it is, it may use cookies to show and measure ads, but the app never sends your transactions or figures to Google, or to anyone else. Prices and exchange rates are looked up by ticker, never by who is asking. An ad blocker does not stop the app from working.

Questions, corrections, a figure that looks wrong, or an export the tracker can't read: write to jeroemj@gmail.com. A report of a wrong number is most useful with the figure you expected and where you got it from — please don't send your export itself.
